Fur Quests Devlog 2023-02-02

Hello dungeoners, Pug here! Back with another Fur Quests update. I was hoping to continue the trend of making small but meaningful improvements on the RPG this week. The Silence skill broke a while back, and I hadn't gotten around to fixing it yet. Well, let's just say I got a few future encounters in mind where silence would have a meaningful impact, so it's about time we got it back into the game! And I did! But long story short, that led to some other bugs, and yeah, we'll just have to push that off to next week's update. Fae, too, wasn't quite able to finish the new illustration in time, but hopefully, she should have that ready for you all to enjoy next week.

But we didn't want to leave you high and dry, so with the power of Elevenlabs, we added voiced narration to most of the lore books. (Don't ask me why not all of them. Let's just say there were some downright unholy hiccups in the system.) We realize it can be rather daunting to read big blocks of texts, so the goal is to allow people to sit back and just enjoy the lore of the world. I do have some ideas to keep the audio playing while you move Septim around, but that would require a lot more work, which we will get around to eventually.

And since AI is a hotly contended issue, I suppose I should cover my stance on it. It is just a tool. I am pretty happy with the results we got, but it doesn't compare to the wonderful voice talents I've worked with in the past. But talent doesn't come cheap, and at the moment, our budget is limited. In the future, we would love to add a real-life narrator to the game; in fact, we already have some names in mind. But for now, this allows us to play around with a few ideas that weren't available to do before.

What do you think of the voices? Do you like the man, the woman, or did you prefer the sound of silence? Let us know in the comments down below.

And if you want more divine vocals, consider heading over to Patreon and SubscribeStarto support us there. Every dime we make goes directly into the game, and let's just say we got some special plans for Morrigan, brought to life by the gorgeous Chloe Angel soon, thanks to our generous supporters; we couldn't do it without you.
